They’re done. The manuscripts for the ebook and softcover are finished. I never want to forget this day. Celebrated with a beautiful thunderstorm, post storm wild bird chirping, feet in the mud, reflections of trees in water, and a gorgeous sunset. There’s nothing better than knowing you’re right where you’re meant to be.

Here’s one of my creative processes for making illustrations. This one is titled “The Joyful Bird”. I paint a background on a canvas, paint some scrap paper abstract, and finally cut out my character. I like the depth and contrast this process yields, bringing the character forward while incorporating shadows. I want my illustrations to come off the page and reach for the viewer.
