-John Burroughs-

Today’s demonstrated themes were Disgust and Anger! We reviewed aspects of information gathering and interpretation within the decision-making process!

The concept of time allows one to separate their self from any emotion to generate the objective point of view necessary to see a bigger picture. As nothing remains permanent, emotions become more inviting and play a resourceful role in understanding any situation. Metaphorically, taking a step back, offers a sense of self-control over how intense one desires to feel something. History and perspective are a valid application. We all have the potential to become information gatherers. When we apply context as a variable to produce a theory for outcome this creates abstract thinking.

We discussed applying a context to an emotion and importance of reflecting on change through time as well as theory development for outcome. For example, one’s average life expectancy is 78 years x 365 days per year. This offers 28,470 opportunities to feel, process, and express at least one emotion each day. Efficacy in identifying each emotion increases through understanding it’s expression within different perspectives and contexts.

PERSPECTIVE MONDAY

“All good things are wild, and free.”

-Henry David Thoreau-

…To be Wild is to constantly transition and adapt to the current situation. To be Free is to exercise freedom in choosing what emotion to apply to each context in one’s decision making process…

-Vincent Van Gogh-

“What are these glowing items above us?”

Sailor turned his head to the nighttime sky.

“Those are called stars. They’re mostly made up of the two lightest elements, hydrogen and helium. All of them, except the sun, lie outside of the earth’s solar system. They fuse atoms in their core to produce heat and light. The closest star is Proxima Centauri and it’s 4.2 light years away. The sun is only 92.96 miles away. First glance at the nighttime sky is always beautiful with the naked eye. But, when I look into the small lens of a telescope, I’m never completely ready for the way it makes me feel. Some of the one billion trillion other stars of which remain unobservable without a telescope, become visible. It’s incredible and cues a symphony of mixed emotions inside my heart. I feel not only amazement, but also curiosity. I wonder how many things in life can seem one way to the naked eye while carrying more meaning and depth beyond what we can see.” Joel pondered.

Sailor made a low hum noise. The kind he always made while processing and storing information. “Maybe time is a star. Just because one can’t see beyond the present doesn’t mean there isn’t more there. Metaphorically, maybe faith is a telescope to see into the future and know more is there.”

“Maybe you’re right,” Joel said, looking up at the sky.

Timeless Quotes

“The measure of a man is what he does with power.”

-Plato-

…Finished the book ‘Ready Player One’ recently. Very inspiring. Especially the part where the main character pledges to divide the potential monetary reward between his fellow players after their avatar life ended. He recognized how vital their part played in his success and valued their friendship and devotion over greed. True leaders want to see others reach their goals and acknowledge those whom impact their own success…
