Today’s demonstrated themes were Dread and Fear inside The Emotional Advantage (First Edition) Volume One (All Ages)!

We explored common ways of expressing each emotion through ten different platforms, using seven different learning styles!

The different platforms illustrated how one emotion can have several different expressions and functions. Emotions are resources for us to understand the bigger picture.

For example, Fear has one definition and multiple variations of degree and functions.

Fearing figments of one’s imagination such as a monster under the bed is unnecessary and is overcome through desensitization to no monster being present (Fear function: Imagination).

Fearing real instances, such as petting an unfamiliar dog is overcome through receiving safety assurance from it’s owner confirming it’s ok to pet (Fear function: Precaution).

Fearing danger or harm from walking across a rickety bridge is a warning sign of danger and potential pain (Fear function: Avoidance).

The multiple platform delivery, engagement of different learning styles, and generating individualistic ways to relate the content to one’s life promotes abstract thinking and objectivity.

Everyone expressed Dread and Fear in their own unique way. We shared ideas and perspectives. It was a delightful time! Superb job everyone!

Identifying, Interpreting, and Internalizing Emotions is like using a stick shift in a moving car.

The stick shift‘s function is to change gears when traveling. When one knows what they’re feeling, they can navigate their internal locus of control to choose direction and speed of choice execution.

Avoiding and suppressing emotions is like that of ignoring icy driving conditions. Pretending the ice isn’t there is fine until one has to change gears.

Integrating presence of the ice into choosing one’s next decision decreases the power the ice has over the outcome. Just as processing any emotion decreases the power it has on individual outcomes.
